I am a Certified Social Worker with previous experience as a nurse and as a teacher. I’ve worked with a broad range of ages in a variety of settings: providing psychiatric patient support as a nurse; early learners in a Montessori classroom; English language learners in kindergarten through 8th grade in public schools; and adults working toward their GED through a community college program. This background has given me understanding of medical, mental, educational, and socioeconomic environments regarding all ages. I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating a wide range of issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, school related problems for children and college aged students, and challenges related to managing ADHD for both children and adults. My therapeutic approach emphasizes self-compassion along with the development of healthy thinking patterns and practical skills for regulating emotions.
I draw from a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), while also utilizing motivational interviewing.
